Are you flying this Fourth of July? There’s a few travel tips you should know before boarding this holiday season.

Firstly, no matter what time of the year you are traveling, it’s important to arrive early. As our previous blog post stated, which you can read here, this is predicted to be the busiest Fourth of July travel season in history! Therefore, with a predicted 28.3 million passengers being screened between June 28 and July 9, 2018, it’s important you plan your trip to the airport in advance so that you have time to pass through security and board the aircraft before taking off.

What is the Fourth of July known for? Fireworks. While it may be tempting to bring your own fireworks to your destination, please leave your fireworks at home. Due to their flammability and explosivity, fireworks are not allowed in carry-ons or checked bags. Even a firework popper, which looks harmless in the grand scheme of firework possibilities, will not be permitted on the plane. To make boarding go more smoothly, simply skip packing the fireworks.
