A new record of travel will take place this Fourth of July season for both automobiles and aviation.

Approximately 47 million Americans will be traveling from July 3rd to July 8th. This is predicted despite the rise of gas prices, making this the fifth consecutive annual travel increase, according to the American Automobile Association. Around 2 million more people are expected to travel this year compared to 2017.

Additionally, almost 4 million passengers will be boarding airplanes for this holiday period. This is almost an 8% increase from last year. Perhaps this is due to Fourth of July being on a Wednesday this year. This mid-week date allows for flexibility in travel, as passengers can choose to leave either before or after the holiday.
