If you are a seasoned traveler you know what when you go to Europe you are going to get your steps in daily.

On a reason trip to Venice, Italy one of the things that I noticed right from day one was that everything included walking. Just on the first day alone we clocked 15k steps walking. To be honest I was not prepared for this. When we arrived back to the hotel room that night I was pooped.

For the entire week that we were gone to Italy we averaged about 17k steps a day. Now after the first few days I started to get used to the walking.

We visited three cities and to see things you just have to be able to walk.

The best advice I can give to anyone going to Europe for more than a week is get into a routine of walking at least 30 to 45 minutes a day. You will be very prepared for the experience and it will be fun for you and the folks you are traveling with.

One of the things I have been thinking about is starting a walking group for people in general but especially for people who are going to travel to Europe soon.

I thought about starting a group so that people generally the retired could come together and talk about different experiences they have had in traveling. If you are interested in participating let us know in the comments below and if the interest is there we will get a group started.
